Boko Haram would have taken over Nigeria if not for Good luck Jonathan - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday boasted that it was President Goodluck Jonathan’s tactics that stopped the Boko Haram from overrunning half of the country.

The party also said it would not fight former President Olusegun Obasanjo because some of the PDP’s achievements were recorded during his regime.
It said if not for Jonathan’s actions and dexterity in the fight against insurgency, members of the dreaded sect would have taken over about half of Nigeria.

NEWS: Jonathan not Eligible to Contest in 2015 –PDP, APC Members

Some members of Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress have approached a federal high court sitting in Abuja to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the attorney general of the federation (AGF) from allowing President Goodluck Jonathan to participate in the 2015 presidential election.

In a suit filed by four Senior Advocates of Nigeria, the plaintiffs argued that by the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the president, having contested the presidential election twice, won and took the oath of office and allegiance twice in respect of that office can no longer present himself for election to that office the third time.

Atiku Abubakar’s Speech On Its Time For A Change....

Today, former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar declared at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja that if he wins his party’s primaries, he will be contesting for the presidential seat in 2015. He spoke about the present situation of the country, and how he intends to turn it around if elected. His words;

I welcome you all to this special gathering. I feel truly honoured by your presence. That you could attend this event despite the security and healthcare challenges facing this country at the moment is all the more gratifying.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We are all here because we believe that our country can be made better. We want to see Nigeria develop, prosper and become the pride of Africa and the Black race.  We are here because we know that change must come and that change will come because of you.

As I move around this country interacting with regular Nigerians, I listen to their concerns about unfulfilled expectations, frustrations and sometimes disillusionment. Yet I still see the excitement, determination and hope on their faces.
